This qualification is for goods vehicle drivers who can demonstrate a level of competence in order to conduct their role effectively. In order to gain the qualification they must complete 7 mandatory units.

Mandatory units comprise of:

1. Monitoring the loading of the vehicle by others
2. Completing pre-driving preparations
3. Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self and property
4. Maintaining awareness of driving conditions
5. Operating the vehicle systems
6. Driving the vehicle on public roads
7. Driving the vehicle in restricted spaces

There are no formal entry requirements but learners must be working in the appropriate environment.
