The Hospitality industry is large and employs over two million people providing a range of services, which all of us experience in one form or another almost everyday. Food, drink, accommodation and providing a first class service are what the Industry is all about.

The opportunities range from working in fast-food restaurants to pubs, exclusive hotels to youth hostels, and snack bars to VIP tents at sporting events. There are over a quarter of a million hospitality locations across the UK.

Demand for well-qualified and experienced employees has never been higher. Conservative estimates put the national figure for vacancies within catering at around 50,000 jobs waiting to be filled!

Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2

This qualification is aimed at learners working within a food and drink service environment taking responsibility for your own work.

There are of 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units. You will be required to complete a blend of these so that you can attain your Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 award.

Mandatory units for Food and Drink Service NVQ 2:

1. Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
2. Contribute to effective team working
3. Give Customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation (ICS)
4. Maintain food safety when storing, holding and serving food

Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 - Food Service only

Who should undertake this qualification?

This qualification is aimed at learners working within a food service environment taking responsibility for your own work.

8 units must be completed to achieve the full award. 4 mandatory units plus a choice of 4 from 7 optional units.

Mandatory Units for Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 - Food Service only:

1. Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
2. Contribute to effective teamwork (CfA)
3. Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation (ICS)
4. Maintain food safety when storing, holding and serving food

Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 – Drink Service only

Who should undertake this qualification?

This qualification is aimed at learners working within a drink service environment taking responsibility for your own work.

There are of 3 mandatory units and 5 optional units. You will be required to complete a blend of these so that you can attain your Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 – Drink Service award.

Mandatory units for Food and Drink Service NVQ Level 2 – Drink Service award:

1. Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
2. Contribute to effective teamwork (CfA)
3. Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation (ICS)
