Team Leading NVQ Level 2

Who should undertake this qualification?

This NVQ will be suitable if you lead either a project or a permanent team as part of your normal working activity. You can be working in any organisation or industry but you must be able to show that you have responsibility for the work of others.

Candidates must demonstrate competence in 6 units, which stretch across 4 key management roles: activities, people,resources and information. Underpinning knowledge for all these areas is developed through a range of resources, topics and activities which are interrelated and can address different units of competence at the same time.

Mandatory units to be completed:

  1. Manage your own resources
  2. Provide leadership to your team
  3. Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
  4. Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Management NVQ Level 3

Who should undertake this qualification?

This NVQ will be suitable if you are responsible for a team as part of your normal work activity or lead a project. You can be working in any organisation or industry but you must be able to show that you have responsibility for the work of others.

Candidates take four mandatory units which, look at managing resources, health and safety, leadership, and allocating/monitoring work plus three optional units.

The wide choice of optional units gives a high level of flexibility, allowing the qualification to be tailored to meet the varying needs of participants and employers cross all employment sectors.

Mandatory units to be completed:

  1. Manage your own resources and professional development
  2. Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
  3. Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
  4. Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility

Management NVQ Level 4

To achieve a full Level 4 NVQ in Management, you must complete all five mandatory units and three optional units. You should choose optional units which are relevant to your current role and allow you to collect sufficient evidence.

Who should undertake this qualification?

This NVQ will be suitable if you are a manager with personal responsibility and autonomy in your job role. You can be working in any organisation or industry but you must be able to show that you have responsibility for the work of others. This may be project based.

Mandatory units to be completed:

  1. Develop and implement operational plans for your area of responsibility
  2. Encourage innovation in your area of responsibility
  3. Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  4. Ensure health and safety requirements are met in your area of responsibility
  5. Manage business processes
