Team Leading Training

Comprising of 4 half day sessions, ideally this programme is aimed at employees in a supervisory role who have not received any formal Team Leading training. The programme can be tailored towards your organisations specific needs and objectives or delivered as follows:

Session 1

What type of a supervisor am I?

The learners will be guided via a variety of teaching strategies to understand the following:

  • That different leadership styles exist
  • The effect of leadership styles on the motivation of their team

Session 2

How are my communication skills?

The learners will be guided via a variety of teaching strategies to understand the following:

  • The principles of effective communication?
  • Giving and receiving feedback
  • Negotiation and the value of the “win-win” outcome

Session 3

Briefing the team.

The learners will be guided via a variety of teaching strategies to understand the following:

  • How to set workplace objectives
  • Methods of effective communication with the team
  • How to monitor and record progress against individual’s objectives

Session 4

Helping the team to address performance problems.
The learners will be guided via a variety of teaching strategies to understand the following:

  • Objectivity versus subjectivity
  • How to tackle underperformance
  • The importance of complying with workplace policies for managing people
