Apprenticeships

What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are programmes mainly aimed at 16-24 year olds but increasingly accessible to all age groups giving the opportunity to work whilst learning. Apprenticeships are government funded and last between one and three years. There are three levels, Apprenticeships, Advanced Apprenticeships and Higher Apprenticeships. Our experienced team will give advice and guidance about the most suitable option for both learner and employer.

The Apprentice spends the majority of their time in the workplace developing practical skills but may be required to attend off the job training to complete qualifications. Apprentice training can be offered to existing employees as well as new recruits.

We support the apprentice and you throughout the apprenticeship and supervise your apprentice with regular performance reviews to ensure they excel in your business. We do this for the life of the apprenticeship.

Benefits of an Apprentice

Improve employee performance and motivation while they develop the skills YOU need.

  • Improve productivity
  • Motivate your workforce - Apprentices tend to be eager, motivated, flexible and loyal to the company that invested in them

The Apprenticeship is made up of the following qualifications:

This assesses the learner’s competency in the job role. The qualification is achieved by compiling a portfolio of evidence which confirms the work is to the required standard.

Key Skills
These ensure that the learner has suitable levels of numeracy and literacy.

Technical Certificate
This ensures that the learner has sufficient knowledge of the subject area.

Progression

On completion of an Apprenticeship further training may benefit the learner and organisation, this could include progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship and then to a Foundation Degree or HNC dependant on needs and aspirations.

Apprenticeships deliver skills designed around your business needs. They also help you develop the specialist skills you need to keep pace with the latest technology and working practices in your sector.
