This is an ideal start for aspiring engineers looking to take the first step in their career.
Engineering Operatives will work individually or as part of a team to carry out a range of engineering operations which could include ensuring machines and equipment used are maintained and serviceable, dealing with breakdowns, restoring components and systems to serviceable condition by repair and replacement; operating a variety of machines and other tools.
The programme is delivered using a blend of on-line, anytime learning and expert-led classroom training covering core topics.
What's Involved
The Apprentice will complete a portfolio of documented evidence and online activities which will support the knowledge, skills and behaviours. The Apprentice will need to complete the following to gain apprenticeship certification:
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours modules:
Learners and employers will have a range of options to select from that cover each knowledge module of the apprenticeship standard. Learners will usually complete online exams for the relevant professional qualification.
Functional Skills in maths and English:
These provide practical skills to help gain the most out of work, education and everyday life. Learners will complete written and online tests.
End-point assessment:
The End Point Assessment is the final stage of the apprenticeship. It comprises written and practical tests as well as a professional dialogue and interview
Delivery
Learners will engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include; attendance at formal off-site training sessions on
a regular basis, access to high quality interactive on-line learning materials and tutorial support.
The programme will require the apprentice to record 20% off job training via the tracking system included with the course resources.
The length of the programme will differ depending on experience, knowledge and skills. However, the course should usually take 15-18 Months.
Progression
Avenues of progression include:
• A Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in a range of engineering pathways.
• Progression into full-time permanent job roles.
• Continuous Professional Development opportunities within the manufacturing and engineering sector.
