Sector: Trade Supplier
An apprenticeship is great for business, boosting productivity by helping companies to expand skills available in the organisation, that distils into your bottom line. At SBC Training we know apprenticeships. We have thirty seven years experience in delivering Government funded qualifications. Our dedicated team are at hand to support you and your apprentices with the delivery of the Trade Supplier apprenticeship program. Trade suppliers play a vital role in ensuring an efficient flow of goods and services between manufacturers and their skilled trade customer base. They will be dealing with customer sales at the trade counter and over the telephone, and will understand incoming deliveries, stock control and despatch. They will be familiar with processing customer orders and taking delivery of goods and the basic administration related to these functions. A key element of their role will be to have technical knowledge of the products and services offered together with the bespoke systems and equipment used in their trade business. Apprentices will learn in a blended format which includes on and off the job learning in the workplace, combined with expert-led classroom training in core topics.
What's Involved
The learner will need to complete the following to gain apprenticeship certification:
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours modules:
Learners and employers will have a range of options to select from that cover each knowledge module of the apprenticeship standard.
Functional Skills in maths and English:
Learners will complete written and online tests to ensure that they are working at Level 2, as required by the job role.
End-point assessment:
This is the final stage of the apprenticeship. It comprises written and practical tests as well as a professional dialogue and interview.
Delivery
Learners will engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include attendance at formal off-site training sessions on a monthly basis, access to high quality interactive on-line learning materials and tutorial support. The programme will require the apprentice to record 20% off job training via the tracking system included with the course resources. The length of the programme will differ depending on experience, knowledge and skills. However, the course should usually take 12 - 15 months.
Progression
On completion and achievement of the Standard, progression routes will be provided
and discussed with the individual to enable them to make informed choices about continuous professional development.
This Standard provides an ideal route into specialised, supervisory and management roles and qualifications within a trade business.
