Congratulations to Chamber Awards winners

We were delighted to see so many of our apprenticeship employers recognised at the recent Shropshire Chamber Awards.

Oswestry based Aico, a European leader in fire and home safety retained its crown as Company of the Year and also picked up awards for Sustainability and Young Business Person of the year at the event which recognises successful businesses in the County.

Aico was shortlisted for a record-breaking 6 awards and won 3, becoming the first company in the awards 22-year history to retain the Company of the Year award.

Samuel Marston, Aico’s Product Development Executive took the Young Business Person of the Year award. Samuel joined Aico at 18 as a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprentice under SBC Training’s wing and has since flourished, earning an EDA Gold Circle before being promoted to his full-time Product Development Executive role. Samuel is now working on his Level 4 Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship and also enjoys supporting Aico in the Community by supporting local education in his role as a STEM ambassador.

Wellington based public relations company, J&PR won the Covid Response Award and was a finalist in the Best Small Business category, where Calluna Graphix and Derwen College were also finalists.

Congratulations to them all and thanks for their support for apprenticeships
