Distinctions for Shropshire Hospital’s Apprenticeship Programme
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital is celebrating the success of its apprenticeship programme. The Hospital Trust has invested in apprenticeships, and has supported members of staff through a variety of pathways, including business administration to, engineering and health and social care.
Working with SBC Training, the Hospital Trust has recently supported 5 apprentices through the Business Administrator and Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards, all achieving Distinctions.

Allen Edwards, Apprenticeships Lead at the Hospital Trust (pictured) said “As Apprenticeship Lead at RJAH I am very proud of everyone. They have all worked extremely hard and have managed the dual responsibilities of job and qualification seamlessly.”
SBC Training is continuing to support the Hospital Trust in these unprecedented times. Government incentives are now available to those who wish to recruit a new apprentice or trainee into their organisation. For any new apprentice starting from 1 September 2020 to 31 January 2021 a grant of up to £3000 is available as well as a £1,000 for any new trainee work placement.
