European funding is benefiting local Team Leaders
SBC Training has welcomed the next group of team leaders who are honing their skills thanks to the ESF funded Skills Support for the Workforce project. The group is following a 5 day course leading to the Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading. The course covers key topics including leadership style, planning, communication, delegation, motivating a team and conflict resolution.
Marches Biogas has three team leaders who have undertaken the course and are delighted with the quality of the teaching and the content. Joe Mann manages a small team which is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and safety of anaerobic digesters across the country. Said Joe “I understand my team better, the psychology of the workplace is important. My understanding of business principles is also enabling me to interact with senior management in a more professional manner.”
Director Mark Pugh commented “Our managers have high level technical skills and qualifications, but this course has helped them to develop essential team leading skills and become confident as managers, something which is so important to support the development of the organisation.”
The course is available for general enrolment but attracts full funding for organisations employing less than 250 in the Marches. It is proving so popular and successful that further courses are now scheduled and future dates are filling up fast.
SBC Training has a range of well-established courses for management development and also currently enrolling for the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
