Sam achieves Distinction

An employee from AICO in Oswestry is celebrating achieving a Distinction in his Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship.  Throughout his apprenticeship Sam Marston was required to demonstrate that he could provide support for the infrastructure network at AICO.  Sam was assigned to a project to improve the functionality of the company’s Client Relationship Management system (CRM) allowing him to test his technical skills but also to demonstrate project management which is an important aspect of the course.

Sam studied for his qualifications with SBC Training where he really appreciated the quality of the course. Said Sam “My Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship was really interesting.  The studies were really useful in my role at AICO and have expanded my opportunities in to new areas.  With an on-going lockdown I thought my apprenticeship would be disrupted but this wasn’t the case and I still achieved my target grade of distinction.”

Geoff Preen, Sam’s IT tutor commented that “Sam was always very keen and a pleasure to work with, we are delighted with his achievement which is well deserved.”

The next steps for Sam could be to progress to Network Engineer or Cyber Security Engineer, however he has now moved In to the area of product development at AICO and is looking to further develop his engineering skills and knowledge.
