This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within the industry and wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Topics within this course are regarded by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as being important in maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace.
Learning is provided via a 1 day training session, although this can be amended to 2 half day sessions for those organisations wishing to engage SBC Training in the delivery of an exclusive course.

What's Involved
Sessions will cover a variety of topics including:
- Provision of first aid to individuals who are choking
- CPR
- Dealing with external bleeding
- Provision of first aid to deal with minor injuries
Delivery
This award is delivered using classroom based teaching which involves a mixture of theoretical and practical work. The qualification is assessed by using a mixture of practical demonstrations, verbal questions and written activities. All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification.
Progression
Avenues of progression include:
- Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
- Specialised qualifications that focus on particular areas of First Aid
