SBC Training Delivers Training For Community Skills Centre!
SBC Training has partnered with VINCI Building, as part of their joint venture with Integrated Health Projects (IHP), to help equip people with the skills they need for the future through a brand-new Community Skills Centre.
The Community Skills Centre has officially opened on the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) construction site and will deliver practical workshops, employability sessions and skills training for a number of areas including construction.
SBC Training has been involved with providing construction skills training for the first cohort of job seekers, within a six-week program, who have the possibility to gain employment with IHP or their subcontractor to work on the multimillion-pound construction project at RSH set for completion in 2028.
Colin Thaw, SBC Training Managing Director said:
"SBC Training is pleased to be a part of this pilot scheme. As an independent training provider we have been supporting people to develop employment skills in Shropshire for over 40 years and being based in Shrewsbury we are proud to play a small part in supporting the development of this IHP project and hope that some employment opportunities have been created for the course participants as a result of their commitment to this course."
We are looking forward to seeing how the community will continue to benefit from the opportunities and progression this project is offering!
